UP

I just saw Pixar's UP today and it is everything the critics have praised it to be. Its a great movie and probably Pixar's best film yet.

My own bad paintings and sketches from the zoo should come shortly.

Maybe.

Hungry like the Woooooolf!

I was at Borders again today and I saw a new White Wolf book called WOD Armory 2 Reloaded on the shelves. It had some of the last artwork that I have done for White Wolf. If you are a fan of the books go check it out. Also if you are a fan of my work let White Wolf know. Maybe send them an email like this:

"Dear White Wolf, we fans really want to see more artwork from this guy Efrem Palacios. He is SUPER AWESOME! Our lives will not be complete unless we see more of his amazing artwork appearing in your books. We also heard he is a snappy dresser and is very attractive."

You don't have to add the last few sentences to your email but I think you know what I'm going for.

Special thanks to Kirsten and her husband for helping me with reference for this one.

Warcraft, Huh! Good God, y'all!

I've been told on good authority that these have seen print now. These are just a few of some of the earlier stuff I've done for Blizzard. Hopefully I've improved since these.

ol' Jack No.7 actually number 5

It was too hot to sit and work in front of my computer (it was a 100 freakin' degrees!) and I think my xbox is broke so I decided to paint monday. I hadn't oil painted in a while so I wasn't expecting anything good. I wasn't wrong in my assessment. Much to my astonishment and disappointment I couldn't bring myself to paint any nekked ladies. I tried but it just didn't feel right so after about 45 minutes or so I ditched her. I then tried a still life of ol' Jack Skellington again. At first I tried doing him entirely with my palette knife just to maybe mix things up. All that did was make things way too thick and messy and afterward when I tried fixing things up with my brushes it felt like I was trying to write my name in wet cement with a crooked stick. In the end after 3-4 hours I got this. Its ugly but its something. Maybe I should have done laundry instead.

When stars appear and shadows fall

Here is some more stuff I did for White Wolf a while back. I was at my usual haunt the Borders bookstore the other day and saw this. Its called Hunter: The Vigil-Night Stalkers. Posted are just a few of the pieces did for the book. Go check it out if you're a fan.
Special thanks to Tom, Becky and Ben for lending their body parts for reference in some of these.

Oh and I won Best Artwork by Charlotte by Night last month. I should have mentioned it earlier. Thanks guys. http://charlottebynight.com/?p=730

Hey Daddy-O

Here is something I did for White Wolf a while back. Its for a book called Nosferatu.
All of my painting as of late has been of the digital kind and I haven't touched oils since Sunday.

Song of the Day: I don't wanna go down to the basement from The Ramones.
