ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

I have a private want for the up and coming Watchmen movie to suck really hard. With the exception of Chris Nolan's Batman films and few other comic book movies the whole comic book movie genre stinks to high hell. I never read the comic book so I don't have any preconception or preordained love for the source material. All I know is that anything that so incredibly hyped and loved by all the legions of comic nerds and cosplay weirdos out there can't logically be good and HAS to be wrong or terrible on some level. Either way this tribute Futurama Mashup trailer is pretty cool plus the original Watchmen trailer was kinda cool as well. Who knows it could be surprisingly good like Marvels Ironman was.

Well its a drag I know...

I'm no stranger to self-deprecation but when I say my last two days of painting have been bad. I mean it. They were BAD. They have all since been destroyed and are awaiting re-gessoing. Even worse I'm gonna try and make it to a life drawing workshop tonight and try working in some charcoal and newsprint again. I haven't touched newsprint and charcoal since October of last year.

Its gonna be ugly.

Side note: Am I the only one who thinks self-deprecation sounds dirty? It sounds like something you should be doing behind closed doors and probably causes hair to grow on your palms and makes the baby Jesus cry. Just thinkin' out loud.

Update: tonights life drawing was ugly but not as bad as I was expecting it to be.

No nekked chick tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Tonight's study was of old Jack Skellington again. Study took almost 3 hours. Funny how not much changed from 1 hour to 3.

I might go back and try and "fix" him if thats possible before hittin' the hay.

I tried a baby step out of my comfort zone tonight and tried to make a slightly cooler painting. Not "cool" as in Fonzie cool but cool as in cooler colors.

I don't think I'll ever be as cool as Fonzie both in life and in painting. (sigh)

I've got no defense for it

This one just couldn't start out right. Everything felt wrong. I committed the ancient high holy crime of trying to paint while listening/watching to a Futurama dvd. I should have known that Bender always beats creative focus like Scissors beat Paper or how Paper beats Rock.

How does paper beat rock?!

That doesn't make sense!

Anyway, maybe after some sleep I'm might come back to her and fix her up. Maybe.

Here is something I did for White Wolf a while back. Its in the new book called Shadows in the Dark: Mekhet. I'm not mentioned in the credits but in the online previews its the first piece of art found in the book on page 3.
